The explosion at the Rameshwaram Cafe on Friday caused havoc and destruction in the wake of it, sending shockwaves through Bengaluru's busy Whitefield area. The quiet lunchtime atmosphere was shattered by the explosion, which was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED), which filled the air with panic and smoke.

Casualties: Numerous people were killed in the explosion, and at least ten others suffered injuries of varying degrees. Emergency personnel raced to the scene and quickly transported the injured to hospitals in the area so they could receive critical care.

What exactly is an IED?

An explosive is not the same as an improvised explosive device. An IED is a lethal weapon made of common materials like chemicals, electronics, and containers that are intended to cause harm and destruction. These gadgets are frequently hidden in public areas, ready to wreak havoc on gullible people.

An IED is a complex but lethal device made up of parts like switches, initiators, main charges, power sources, and containers. These explosive devices are designed to release lethal shrapnel upon detonation, maximizing the damage caused by additional materials such as glass, nails, or metal fragments.
